Skiathos
Pine-backed beaches, a small harbour town and quiet Sporades coves.
About the destination
Skiathos is a well-connected Sporades island, with an airport and pine forests running down to long sandy beaches such as Koukounaries. The harbour town has narrow lanes and lively evenings, the white pebbles of Lalaria are reached by boat, and the ruined Kastro stands on a rocky headland. Skiathos was also the home of the writer Alexandros Papadiamantis, whose house is now a museum.
