Marathon Lake

About the destination
Lake Marathon is an artificial lake northeast of Athens, held back by a marble dam finished in 1929 and ringed by pine woods. It is a quiet green escape for short walks and picnics, and it combines easily with the Marathon battlefield and Schinias beach. Spring is the greenest season and autumn is calm and clear.
