About the destination

Metsovo is a stone-built mountain town in the Pindus range, at about 1,100 metres, with a strong Aromanian (Vlach) heritage kept in its dress, music and festivals. The Tositsa mansion and the Averoff Gallery show local life and Greek art, and Metsovone, a smoked cheese, and the local wines are well-known products. In winter the nearby ski area and snow make it a cosy base, and autumn colours suit walking.
